No kidding that took some skill. I'm sure people of knowing can appreciate this better than I.

But as content it's a bit like "going down a MTB trail in a shopping cart". All respect to the Jackass team, but I didn't learn anything from them.

I'll watch it again but things that could be brought up are:

* What's different from a MTB, ride-wise? It's recumbent, but you have the CoG way back and lower which should help you. Sure, your spine is probably 1in shorter now even with rear suspension, but what else?

* What was the thinking regarding line choice etc?

* What's that bike used for when not a tool for suicide / cry for help?

It's a little out there, that's for sure and, it definitely sounded about like a shopping cart. We'll get Seth in here and he can weigh in with some answers to your questions!

Sounds great! Normally I just ignore posts I'm not interested in, but this one has so much unrealized potential.

(Maybe Seth's too busy winning championships, but worth a try!)

Hey Leo!

Thank you for your comment and showing interest on my latest recumbent stunt! :)

To help answer some of your questions -

1.) The biggest difference for me when comparing “the ride” to a traditional MTB is how low and laid back your center of gravity is. It almost feels impossible to go “OTB” on that thing!

2.) The trail (Horseface) is so steep and narrow that there’s really only one main line to choose from. Therefore I actually spent more time thinking/adjusting my bike set up to ensure I was taking the “safest” way down.

3.) To my knowledge, Bike-E created those bikes back in the early 90’s (before my time) with the same intended use as any other recumbent bike - an alternative way to enjoy cycling + cardio with less stress on your back, hips, and knees!

I personally do not consider this “a tool for suicide/cry for help” as I know my capabilities on the bike along with spending weeks adjusting & researching the safest bike set up. I did not go into great detail with this in the actual video, but I am now considering a “behind the scenes” to help viewers further understand my thoughts/strategy when it comes to achieving success on such a stunt.
