Having watched Matt’s Off Road Recovery for years, I’d seen shots of his children riding mountain bikes. Knowing there was a decent chance they were Berm Peak fans, I wore a Winder Towing shirt in one of my videos. The bat signal worked perfectly.
On a winter afternoon several months back, Daniel received a fairly random call from a Utah phone number and immediately recognized Matt’s voice on the other end, and he invited us to the Off Road Games. Matt had gotten our info from a mutual connection, which is actually how most YouTube creators connect, as even messages from large creators can get lost if there’s no friend of a friend to broker the exchange.
